Finally catching up with editing the photographs that I took on Saturday of the Indy car weekend at Road America! On that Saturday I only took 739 photos, so there are just a few to edit.
I don't want you all to see the bad stuff, and yes I shoot bad ones. So I go through every shot and check them out and get rid of the bad ones.
What you see here are just a few that I like and find interesting.
Marco Andretti's shoes are interesting in that you will see his initials sewn into them.
Helio, Graham Rahal and a few guys bouncing over the bumps in Canada Corner is something to witness, not just to see, but to hear their cars going over the bumps, because they come into the corner a little too fast. It's something! It also must hurt the bum bouncing on them like that! They are just inches off the ground and there is not much padding for the driver in his seat.
I have also included a couple photos of Zak Veach and James French from the Indy Lights cars that raced that weekend too. Zak has won just about everything this year and was on the pole. James French is our local boy from Sheboygan who usually races in an IMSA car but did the Indy Lights as a substitute driver for the weekend. It was a different environment for him. He is young and going to be good. Wish our local boy all the best in the future!
Enjoy a look from the roof of the media center by the start/finish line. It's a very cool view and you can see into the cars a bit.
Have a good week and please join me on Facebook if you haven't for more fun photos!
Thanks,

As I write this blog on Sunday March 24, my IRL Indy Car racers are racing in the streets and on the runway of the airport in St. Petersburg, Florida! The Indy Car season has begun!
I wish them a safe season and hope that Marco Andretti has a year to remember. He always races well at Indy and on the ovals, but seems to have issues with the road and street courses.
According to a few publications I have read, he is changing his driving style this year. Hopefully that will help him win some races. Then maybe he could go for the championship because I know he has it in him to do it!
With his father, Michael Andretti, and grandpa, Mario, he has some good guidance. Good luck Marco and be fast!
Enjoy a few photographs from 2006 and 2008 at the Milwaukee Mile.
Limited edition 8 1/2 X 11 archival prints are for sale the week of the blog at $50.00. Wouldn't one look nice in your office or race room? Contact us soon and we can also make you a larger print if you would like.
Thanks,

Marco Andretti is the first Indy car driver that I have photographed exclusively with digital equipment!
Marco started his rookie year in 2006 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway where he started 13th, broke a halfshaft during a pit stop, ending his race that day. At the Indy 500 in 2006, he became the third Andretti to finish in the top five. It was his first Indy 500 appearance. He finished second to Sam Hornish Jr. in the second closest finish in Indy history (0.0635), joining his father Michael (5th in 1984) and his grandfather Mario (3rd in 1965 and first in 1969).
On August 27, 2006 Marco became the youngest winner (19 years, 5 months, 14 days) of an Indy car race with his victory at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. That race, not far from grandfather Mario's winery, made Marco the 2006 IRL Bombardier Rookie of the Year.
Driving for his father Michael Andretti and Andretti Autosport, Marco has teamed up with some very good talent in Ryan Hunter Reay and James Hinchcliff.
Enjoy these photographs of Marco.
