The news on television and in the newspapers lately has been depressing, but the news of Linda Ronstadt really hurt. Linda was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and her voice among other things is being affected.
For me, Linda was the first female rock star. She has a very strong and wonderful voice.
I wish her the best of luck in the treatment of her disease and hope things go well for her.
My favorite photo that I have ever taken is the first photo here!! It was 1972, I was 18 years old, and I was in a dressing room with Linda and Ramblin' Jack Elliott! Linda kicked some beer cans off of a bench to put her leg up on it, played guitar, and sang for Ramblin' Jack a song that I don't remember! What I do remember was her incredible voice.
The second photo here is of Linda and Kris Kristofferson. I always wanted to know what he was saying to her.
Enjoy these photos from 1972 and 1980. Take care Linda.
Thanks,

Very busy around here lately. I've been photographing a new band out of Liverpool, England, called Familiar Looking Strangers. Hope you all get to hear and see these guys soon. They start up a tour opening for the band Hawkwind, on October 5th in Canada, and then move through the U.S. Check them out!!
Here are a few photos of Rory Gallager from November 11, 1972 at the East Village. He has been in my head lately because of his beat up guitar. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar in a photo last week and it looks about as beat up as Rory's seen here.
Rory was an amazing guitar player.
Enjoy a little bit of Rory and have a good week.

In the early 1970's, I was on the Alpine Valley National Ski Patrol as a Junior Ski Patrolman on the ski hill in East Troy, Wisconsin!
In 1987, I returned to East Troy, Wisconsin, as the house photographer for the Alpine Valley Music Theater which is on the other side of the ski resort! It is one big valley of fun wether it's winter or summer here in Wisconsin!
One of the best shows in 1987 was Fleetwood Mac even though Lindsey Buckingham wasn't in the band. It took two guys to try to replace Lindsey and it was a different sound.
Enjoy some photos and notice that you can see their breath! Stevie even wore gloves because it was so cold that night in the valley!
Thanks,
