On December 10, 1972, I photographed Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen at Humpin Hanna's here in Milwaukee.
Three days before, I photographed Manfred Mann and his Earth Band at the same club. Manfred Mann, was last week's blog. Humpin Hanna's was a great venue in the 70's for a lot of national acts coming through town.
Commander Cody had ties to Wisconsin because he was a teacher for a while at UW Oshkosh!!
His famous song "Smoke, Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette", was very popular at the time and the photos attached here show him smoking and playing it!
Hope you have a nice holiday today and have a great week.
Please join me on Facebook at Rich Zimmermann Photography if you haven't and have a great week.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

On December 7, 1972, Manfred Mann came to Humpin Hanna's here in Milwaukee.
Hanna's is a little club and this was before Manfred Mann became a household name in music.
He and the boys were awesome with his Hammond B3 and Moog synthesizer. Everyone had a good time and after this show Manfred became very popular with Bruce Springsteen helping out with some songs.
Enjoy some photos and have a great week.

Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers! Without you we wouldn't be here!!
Today, we take a look back to November 27, 1978 when Bruce Springsteen came to the MECCA Arena here in Milwaukee.
The Boss, as Bruce is known, always puts on a great show and this was no exception!
What is your favorite Springsteen song?
For me it's 10th Avenue Freezeout. Love that tune!
Have a great week and get your yard work done! We did so much Saturday we slept 13 hours Saturday night!
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

Our blog today is about some Gary Wright photos I found in a slide tray. They are stamped April, 1977. Once again, I had some bad record keeping and do not have the venue recorded!
Were you at this show in April 1977? Let me know if you were and where we were!
For some reason in the old days, I didn't record a lot of information on slides!
Gary Wright is most famous of course for his song, Dreamweaver.
These photographs with the fog look very dreamy.
Enjoy and have a good week.

Rich Zimmermann

We return to some rock'n'roll blogs again this week!
Thank you all for the nice condolences. I have received so many because of the passing of my father, Carl Zimmermann.
This week's blog is about Ted Nugent. He was playing somewhere in Milwaukee in April of 1981. I think it was at the Milwaukee Arena or Auditorium. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.
Ted had the best fan and PR lady around. It was his Mom! If I remember correctly, she was the one who let me in the back door to photograph Ted on this particular night. She was a cool lady and we miss her.
Enjoy some Ted and have a good week.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann
