Indyfest 2015, at the historic Milwaukee Mile, did not disapoint.
Josef Newgarden, got his first pole position and Sebastian Bourdais, returned to the winners circle at The Milwaukee Mile. Seabass, as we call Sebastian, has been there before.
This time Seabass, almost lapped the field by the end of the race! His car was that good.
Enjoy a few photos here of the day and for more, go to the category Indyfest 2015 in my Racing menu.

Ok, I promise that this is the last blog on the 1990 CART race at the Milwaukee Mile!
I finally scanned all the film, and I just kept coming across some good memories of good times in Indy car racing! Here are a few of my favorites.
Michael and Mario Andretti sitting on the pit wall having a talk with an engineer.
A. J. Foyt and Mario on their motor scooters having a discussion about who knows what. Would love to know what it was about. Next to them, is legendary engineer, Jim McGee.
Scott Brayton in his Amway car is no longer with us and the photo of Jeff Andretti is the last photo I took of him racing.
Pancho Carter, Danny Sullivan, Rick Mears and Eddie Cheever are looking good in their cars.
So, enjoy the last look of 1990 at the Milwaukee Mile, when they used a board to list qualifying speeds!!!

Last week was so much fun with scanning old film from the Milwaukee Mile, Miller 200, 1990 CART race, that we are going to do this for a while!
So this week, we are looking at a few images of Danny Sullivan, Rick Mears and Emerson Fittipaldi. This is the power house Team Penske of 1990.
This team, was full of Indy 500 winners and CART champions.
They are all personal favorites, especially Emerson Fittipaldi, whose helmet I adored! I still think it's one of the most beautiful helmet designs around!
The aero devices on Emmo's helmet are the earliest form of aero dynamic work.
Enjoy a look at some of the fastest cars EVER made and a beautiful helmet!

Time to switch my blogs to some Indy car racing photography for my racing fans! Also, because it's almost Indy 500 time!
So, for the next few blogs we are going to be looking at the 1990, Miller Beer 200, CART race at the Milwaukee Mile.
This was a good time for Indy cars with big name drivers. We had and will look at today, Emerson Fittipaldi, Raul Boesel, Arie Luyendyk, Bobby Rahal, Danny Sullivan and A.J. Foyt Jr.
Team owner Roger Penske and his right hand man Teddy Mayer are also shown today. Teddy Mayer was one of the best engineers on the planet, coming from years in Formula 1.
It is interesting to me to see the dashboards of 1990, when now, all information for the driver is on the steering wheel!
Enjoy a look at film roll number one of my collection with more to come next week.
Time for me to mow the grass for the first time now while you look at this!
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving with family and friends!
I haven't done a blog about racing in a while.
During the Thanksgiving break here, I heard some interesting news. Graham Rahal became engaged to Courtney Force!!! Congrats to you both!
These are two racing families here. Graham is Bobby Rahal's son and Courtney is John Force's daughter. Indy car driver marrying a Funny Car dragster driver could only make them both faster, right?
They are both 26 years old and have a lot of racing left in their lives. Both have very famous, successful fathers. It will be interesting to see if that helps either one.
Courtney, is just getting going but Graham has been racing for a long time and has won one race in the IRL series.
Here is a look at Graham from this past year at the Milwaukee Mile. I have photographed Graham throughout his whole racing career.
I will have to do another blog with all those photos of him racing in Toyota Atlantics, Champ Cars and the IRL series.
Have a nice week and if you need a nice Christmas present, all our photos are 10% off during the entire month of December!
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

Milwaukee IndyFest 2014 at the Milwaukee Mile is history and the IRL crews are about to race in California as I write this blog. Early Sunday morning they had earthquakes just a few miles away from the California racetrack. I hope all are all right and ready to race again.
The Milwaukee race was a good fight for Will Power and Juan Pablo Montoya. I was pulling for Montoya as my other favorite, Helio Castroneves, just wasn't in the picture much during the race. I think Helio's championship title fight might be over. There are just not enough races left to gain points for Helio. Milwaukee, once again, isn't good for Helio come race time.
I was very happy to see Matthew Brabham running well in the Indy Lights and I see big things for this young man. His father Geoff, who was at the race, is a great driver coach for his son. Geoff raced Indy cars a bit, but really is famous for racing the Nissan IMSA GTP cars in the 1980's and winning a lot of races.
Matthew Brabham would have won his Indy Lights race if not for a late crash and then a bad restart. He finished P2 and was just heart broken sitting on the wall after the race with his Dad. He is learning quickly what racing is all about.
I hope you enjoy a look at Matthew Brabham, Rick Mears and the rest of the guys.
Have a great week.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

This past weekend was Milwaukee Indyfest 2014! I am writing this on Friday before the weekend that I will be photographing one of my favorite things in life, Indy Cars!!
So, here is a look back at 2013. One of these guys should win, except, of course, for Dario Franchitti who is now retired due to injuries sustained last year at the Houston race. I miss seeing him race. He will be coaching for Chip Ganassi's team and will still be on pit lane. Also, Simona DeSilvestro won't be back because she is now pursuing a Formula One career. Good luck to her with that adventure.
Enjoy a look at Helio, Will Power and the guys from last year. I'm pulling for Helio to get 'er done. Then he could win the championship this year. Good luck to Helio Castroneves. He needs it! He has never won in Milwaukee and The Mile has not been kind to him when it comes to race day.
Next week, we will give you the results blog with some great photos of the guys. Hope to see you at the track.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann
