On November 25, 1971 my thoughts were not on Thanksgiving too much. That is because two days later the James Gang Band was coming to the Milwaukee Arena for a show!!
Joe Walsh has played in many bands but he's also a great solo artist. My personal favorite was the time he spent with the band The James Gang. To me, Joe Walsh was the band!
He did have a great band though with drummer Jimmy Fox and bass guitar by Dale Peters.
John Mayall and another band, Jake Jones, played that night too.
I'm thinking that the James Gang Band was the headliner act that night, but not sure.
Enjoy some freshly cleaned up images!
Thanks,

This week's blog is about the band Heart in 1977 at the Milwaukee Arena.
I thought these photos were already on my website and they were not!!
Check out the young sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson in 1977. Next week I'm doing some photos of Heart from 2009 at Summerfest.
Enjoy and have a great week.

Today's blog, is a revisit of David Bowie.
I did blogs #35 and #36 in 2012 on David Bowie, but I thought it was worth a revisit because of his current show running in Chicago.
"David Bowie Is", is the exhibit organized by London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art is the only U.S. stop for this exhibit of over 300 objects and photographs.
The exhibit is only until January 4th and tickets are $25.00. Tickets are limited and are purchased for a specific date and time. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 312-397-4066.
Everyone I talk to who has seen this exhibit loves it and says I must go!
One of my followers sent me a copy of his ticket from the show that I photographed on October 13, 1974. You can see it below. Thank you so much for sending that. Enjoy another look at David Bowie's performance at the Milwaukee Arena.
My exhibit here is open 24/7 and prints can be ordered for Christmas for someone you love!
For the holidays, a limited edition, certified, archival, gallery print 16 X 24 is just $125.00 until January 1st!
Enjoy my little exhibit.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

Happy New Year everyone and thank you for viewing my blog!
I am looking forward to bringing you photos of the past and some new stuff as the year progresses.
Today, we are looking at a few photographs from Supertramp Day in Milwaukee on March 22, 1979! Milwaukee mayor, Henry Maier, gave the boys in the band a nice certifacate as you can see here.
Milwaukee was a huge Supertramp town. Every time they came to town the shows were huge. I think they were a bigger hit in Milwaukee than they were in England.
Enjoy the photos and play some Supertramp as you look them!
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

As I was doing blog #78 a few weeks ago on Rory Gallager, I thought I had more photos of him in my files. Sure enough, I found some pictures that were taken on October 20, 1971 when Rory played at the Milwaukee Arena with Fleetwood Mac and Frank Zappa and his Mothers of Invention.
Here are photographs of Rory's slightly used guitar. The varnish is worn off! Looks like Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar, doesn't it?
I believe that Rory opened the show on this particular night followed by Frank Zappa and then Fleetwood Mac. If anyone remembers the order being different please let me know, just so I know!
Enjoy a look back at an amazing musician and his band. Have a good week.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann
