Well, the 100th Indy 500 is coming up on us soon!
So until then, my blogs will be on racing of some form, and today it's IMSA, 1991, at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Seems so long ago, because in my photos here, we have Robby Gordon in a Ford Mustang! He raced that before he was into an Indy car!!
It was a nice weekend because you had IMSA and Indy car, CART, in the same weekend! I show you Rick Mears and Bobby Rahal here and A.J. Foyt's nice pit vehicle!
We have Davy Jones in the very competitive Bud Light Racing Jaguar, and Wayne Taylor in the Chevy Intrepid.
The owner of Momo wheels, Mr. Momo himself, G. Moretti was racing a beautiful red Momo Porsche. Mazda was breathing fire at every turn it seemed and the Toyota's of P.J. Jones and Juan Manuel Fangio Jr. were very dominant in every race.
These were good times of racing and Road America looks great without all that now present fencing!
Enjoy the look back!
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

In June of 1974, I was asked to photograph Eddie Harris for the Bugle American newspaper.
Little did I know what I was in for! I had never heard of Eddie and was amazed at what the man can play!
You see, Eddie was really one of the first guys to take a little rock with some electronics and jazz and mix them all up! I guess that is what they now call fusion.
He was inventing things as he went along and was very good at it. He put a reed mouthpiece on his trumpet for instance! In some of my old photos here, you can see his electronic case full of all kinds of things. Whatever was in there really worked with his saxophone , keyboards and trumpet!
Enjoy a look back at Eddie from a nice June night in 1974 at Teddy's in Milwaukee. Teddy's is now called Shank Hall, and owner Peter Jest keeps bringing in wonderful acts every week.
It's like summer here in Milwaukee this week! Have a good week everyone.

Racing season has begun with practice laps being run at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!
Nascar doesn't count with me, and yes, we have had a few Indy car races, but this year we have the 100th running of the Indy 500!
Here are some old photos from the late 1980's and 1990 with some different forms of real racing!
Check out Rick Mears, Emerson Fittipaldi, Geoff Brabham, Bill Seebold and a few other folks way back when and get ready for the 100th Indy 500. All of these guys were the best in their race craft.
Who are you picking for the winner if the Indy 500? It's early yet but I'm going with Scott Dixon.
Thanks,

It's springtime and birds are coming back to Wisconsin!
Two years ago while working I discovered a birds nest with four baby robins in it!
From May 9th to May 19th of 2014 I photographed them and their mother every day. I missed seeing them hatching by just a few days I believe.
Momma robin was not pleased with me and let me know it! I tried not to disturb them at all but the mother would come back, see me and go crazy! The slightest noise and the little guys would open their mouths looking for food.
I shot 409 images and trimmed it down to these 33 pictures.
It is very interesting to see the rapid development of these guys in just ten days! After the ten days, the nest was empty and they were gone. Never saw them again.
I wonder if they are still alive and flying. It's a tough world we live in.
Enjoy a look at these ten days.
Thanks,

Hope everyone had a nice Easter with family and friends.
This week's blog was going to be on some baby robins that I photographed. I have 409 images of them growing up from the egg to flying away! With 409 images I need a little more time to sort through them, so that will be next week's blog. Today we have Robin Trower from 1974!
It's a different kind of robin! This one rocks and is still rocking today. I have photographed him a lot, and had the pleasure to meet him and he is one nice guitar player!
These photos show James Dewar on bass guitar. He was also Robin Trower's vocalist until his passing years ago.
Enjoy a look at Robin in 1974, and word is- he is getting ready for a new tour of America! Be sure to catch him this summer if you can.
Have a great week.
Thanks,
